Completely self-taught, Gez Cox only started painting in 1995 but has rapidly emerged as a major talent. He was elected to the Society for Graphic Fine Arts in 1997 and has twice been a finalist in the International Artist Magazine’s watercolour awards, winning second prize in 2003.
His watercolours, inspired by a love of the countryside, are widely exhibited in Warwickshire but have travelled as far as New Zealand and the United States.
Born in Leamington Spa in 1947, Gez worked as an electrician for 30 years and has played drums with a local band for more than 25 years. He discovered his gift for watercolour painting in 1995 when given paints as a present.
