Neil Astill has worked in the fine art world for many years and opened the Neil Astill Gallery, in Market Street, Warwick, in 1993.
Entirely self-taught, Neil particularly admires the paintings of Kandinsky, Jackson Pollock and Terry Frost. Other influences include Ben Nicholson and Sean Scully. Neil’s work is inspired by all sorts of things – music, frequent visits to Cornwall, the world beneath the waves and outer space.
It’s not just about paint on canvas. Neil experiments with different materials and techniques. He mainly uses oils and acrylics to create his varied and colourful images – many now in private collections across Europe, Australia and the United States.
